I Need Your Input
I will be glad to post your letters to ESE
officials up on the site, along with responses you receive from ESE officials.
Some of the ESE officials' responses may prove to be more informative than the letters from the
ESE parents write. The first letter and responses pertain to a current disagreement I
have with the Polk County School District. I have not had the identifying
information removed (it pertains to my family).
If you have letters and responses you
would to be considered for posting, just remove the identifying information when
necessary and email them to me. You may also fax them to me at (863) 680-1603.
If you wish to identify the County where the issues reside, that would be
fine, but it is not necessary. You should know, however, that I will
retain complete control over what I chose to post.
If you have IEP goals and measures
that worked unusually well, get them to me. If you have them in Word files,
that would be great, too. Other parents can just pull the goals they like off
the site paste them where they need to go. Let us know if you found any secrets
that helped actually helped their implementation.
It is very important for me to
highlight the following: You can find many of the most dedicated professional
educators serving the ESE student, both as teachers and as
administrators. Often they find themselves in impossible positions, yet they
work as best they can to do the very best they can. Often, to be a good
advocate for your ESE child, you need to become an even better advocate for your
child’s teacher.
This information has been
posted by Bill Sammons, a parent of an ESE student in the Polk County School
District.
